  • 1 tsp Olive oil spray Use more if needed
  • 0.75 tsp Salt Or to taste
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper Optional
  • 0.5 tsp Onion powder Optional – adds great flavor

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer Any brand, basket-style works best
  • 1 Oil Spray Bottle Olive or avocado oil spray

Method

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F for 2–3 minutes.
  2. Spray air fryer basket with olive oil spray.
  3. Arrange frozen hash browns or fresh shreds in a single layer, do not stack.
  4. Lightly spray tops with oil and season with salt, pepper, and onion powder.
  5. Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip or stir.
  6. Cook an additional 4–6 minutes until edges are crispy and golden brown.
  7. Remove and serve immediately, or reheat later at 370°F for 3–4 minutes.

Notes

For fresh shredded potatoes, soak in cold water for 10–15 minutes to remove excess starch, then dry thoroughly before air frying.
Do not stack hash browns, air circulation is key to crispy results.
Reheat leftovers in the air fryer, not microwave, for best texture.
