Equipment

  • 1 Air fryer (basket-style or oven-style)
  • 1 Spatula or tongs
  • 1 Bowl (for mixing shredded potatoes)

Ingredients

  • For frozen patties:
  • 2 hash brown patties frozen
  • For shredded hash browns:
  • 1 cup shredded potatoes fresh or thawed frozen
  • 1 tsp avocado oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder optional

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 2–3 minutes.
  • Place frozen patties or prepared shredded potatoes in the basket in a single layer.

  • For shredded, spray lightly with oil and season with salt and garlic powder.

  • Air fry patties for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway if desired.

  • For shredded hash browns, cook at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping or stirring at the halfway mark.
  • Remove when golden and crisp. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Frozen patties require no oil, just space them out for airflow.
  • Shredded potatoes should be squeezed dry for max crisp.
  • Diced hash browns also work, cook for 12–15 min at 390°F and shake halfway.
