Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan For simmering ginger
  • 1 Fine mesh strainer To remove ginger slices
  • 1 Mason jar or mug For serving and storage

Ingredients

  • 1.5 tbsp Fresh ginger Peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups Water Filtered preferred
  • 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice About half a lemon
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper Optional for fat burning
  • 1 tsp Raw honey Optional for sweetness
  • 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar Optional for metabolism

Instructions

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a light boil in a small saucepan.
  • Add the sliced or grated ginger and reduce heat to simmer.
  • Simmer uncovered for 7–10 minutes until fragrant.
  • Turn off heat and let steep for 5 minutes.
  • Strain the liquid into a mug or jar.
  • Stir in lemon juice and optional add-ins like cayenne, honey, or ACV.
  • Sip warm, or chill and store in fridge for up to 4 days.

Notes

Add turmeric and black pepper for an anti-inflammatory twist.
Chill it to make a refreshing afternoon iced detox tea.
Great as part of a weight-loss routine when paired with apple cider vinegar and cayenne.
